Kristin Neff’s website is full of amazing resources, courses and ideas (such as fierce self-compassion).
Special Time
Providing regular and consistent 1:1 time with your child helps them to feel calm and regulated. It can take time to work out the logitics but it’s worth it.
Also check other informatIon on this website. There are helpful articles about sleep issues, separation anxiety, siblings, creating boundaries etc.
Emotion coaching
It’s very easy to go straight to problem solving mode when trying to help children but over the long term this doesn’t help children to regulate their emotions.
PACE by Dan Hughes
This is an easy-to-remember tool to help you tune in to your child and work with them when thery are experiencing difficulties. It’s not always easy but time spent developing this kind of approach will help develop more enjoyable times with your child and reduced stress.
